Individuals and families looking for a real choice.
Why Choose A Homecare Cooperative?
Finding someone to care for your loved one is one of the most personal decisions you’ll ever make. You’re not just looking for competent help. You’re inviting someone into your family’s life during a vulnerable time. And you’re doing it in a system where many providers are primarily answering to investors or corporate goals, not to the families they serve.
That misalignment can show up in small ways: high caregiver turnover, rushed visits, rigid policies. These add up to care that feels transactional rather than personal. You and your loved one deserve better than that. That’s where home care cooperatives give you a meaningful choice.

Frequently Asked Questions
Questions you should ask any home care provider
Choosing home care is too important to leave to chance. These are the questions that matter most when evaluating any provider, including us. The answers you get will tell you a lot about whether a provider’s priorities align with what you and your loved one actually need.
Will I have the same caregiver, or will I see different people every time?
We strive to provide you with a consistent primary caregiver to ensure familiarity and comfort. However, in instances such as scheduled time off, illness, or unexpected absences, a temporary caregiver will step in to ensure your care continues seamlessly without interruption.
Which Insurance companies do you accept for payment?
If you have any questions regarding rates or payment arrangements, please feel free to reach out to our team.
Are your caregivers experienced? Do you complete background checks?
As a caregiver-owned and operated agency, we know how important it is to bring experienced, reliable caregivers onto our team. To meet our Department of Health In-Home Services licensing requirements, we take extensive measures to ensure our caregivers are trained, professional, and safe.
Our caregivers are all licensed Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) or Home Care Aides (HCAs), meaning that all of our caregivers have gone through at least 75 hours of training in essential care skills, mental health, dementia, infection control, and more. Most of our caregivers are also NARs, DDA-residential certified, and continue to receive thorough training to meet the needs of specialized care cases.
All of our caregivers are required to have at least a year of experience before being considered for employment. Additionally, all of our caregivers complete State and Federal background checks and are fingerprinted. We conduct a lengthy interview process and require a probationary stage of employment before considering a new caregiver for ownership in our cooperative.
How do you train your caregivers, and what happens if they’re not a good fit?
Our caregivers complete their Home Care Aide (HCA) certification through structured training programs to ensure they meet professional standards of care.
To create the best possible client experience, we gather your specific preferences before service begins and use them as a guide when matching you with a caregiver. If at any point you feel your assigned caregiver is not a good fit, please inform our team immediately. We will promptly work to reassign someone who better aligns with your needs and expectations.
Do you accept Medicaid or Medicare for payment?
At this time, MHC cannot accept Medicaid or Medicare. We hope to do so in the future and will announce when those payment options become a reality.
If I have a concern or need to reach someone quickly, how easy is it to get in touch?
Our office is open Monday through Friday, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, for general inquiries and administrative support. For urgent matters outside of these hours, our after-hours support line is available to ensure you can reach a member of our team whenever immediate assistance is needed.
Communication and accessibility are priorities for us, so please do not hesitate to contact us whenever a question or concern arises.
What happens if a caregiver can’t make it—will someone let me know, or will I just be waiting?
We proactively communicate any schedule modifications to ensure you are never left waiting. If your scheduled caregiver is unable to attend, our team will contact you as early as possible to inform you of the change and outline the arrangements for a replacement.
How do you match caregivers to clients? Will my caregiver understand my loved one’s specific needs?
We prioritize matching you with a caregiver who fits your specific needs by learning your preferences during our initial onboarding process. Should you ever feel that the match isn’t right, simply let us know. We will swiftly pair you with a replacement who is better suited to your comfort and expectations.
Are your caregivers employees or contractors, and how does that affect the care my loved one receives?
Our caregivers are employees and active member-owners of our cooperative. Because they have a direct stake in our organization, they take deep personal pride in their work and understand that the quality of care they provide directly reflects on the company they own.
For your loved one, this cooperative structure translates to high-quality, reliable support delivered by dedicated professionals who are fully invested in providing care with the utmost dignity, respect, and compassion.
What role do I have in deciding how care is provided? Can I adjust things if our needs change?
You are an integral partner in shaping and directing your loved one’s care plan. During your initial intake consultation, we rely on your insight to define the specific care, routines, and support required to best serve their unique needs.
As your loved one’s situation evolves, we welcome and encourage updates to the care plan at any time. We are fully committed to adapting our services so your loved one continuously receives optimal support. If you ever have questions or wish to adjust their care preferences, please feel free to reach out to us by phone or email..
